OUR PROGRAMS
LITTLE WILDCATS
Little Wildcats is the first step into hockey for our youngest skaters. This is a learn-to-skate program with skaters starting without their sticks and “earning” them as they progress through and master various basic skating techniques, eventually progressing to in-house scrimmages within the program.
MITE 1
The Mite 1 program helps skaters continue to progress their skating technique while learning hockey basics through stations and skating drills. Mite 1s are assigned a team at the beginning of the season and will have weekly games against the other CLHA Mite 1 teams.
TRAVEL MITES
Travel Mites is a step up from Mite 1. Players will receive more ice touches and will also be playing against other associations. There is a girls U8 team, as well as boys level 2, 3, and 4 teams.
- 1st - 3rd grade
- 2 - 3 years of experience preferred
Leveling
There will be no formal tryouts but leveling will occur early in the season; leveling will help determine which team will help each player best develop. We will also consider other factors such as age, grade, school attended, etc. We want every child to love the game of hockey while providing the best opportunities for the player to improve their skills. Our goal is that every player will be challenged while gaining confidence to carry the puck and make plays against other players. The focus is development.
Parents - please remember hockey development is a marathon, not a sprint.

Jerseys
Little Wildcat and Mite 1 jerseys
Little Wildcats and Mite 1 will be provided a jersey for use during the season. These jerseys must be returned upon the completion of the season. In the event a jersey is lost or damaged, the cost of the jersey will be charged to the registered player.
Thank you to our generous sponsor Chisago Lakes Fire for purchasing the current jerseys for CLHA!
Travel jerseys
New players will need to purchase a reversible jersey. The cost is $45 per jersey and is not included in the registration fee.
- All new jerseys ordered will have a number based on a player's top three choices that do not conflict with others.
- If two players on the same team have the same number, the most tenured CLHA skater will be given the option to keep the number.
The jersey order for this season has already been submitted. If you need to order a jersey, contact the Hockey Operations Coordinator. Jersey orders take 8-10 weeks to receive.
Socks are included with registration.
