2024-2025 TRYOUTS

LOGISTICS

  • Tryouts will be held September 29th through October 6th for Squirts, Peewees, and Bantams
  • All sessions are 60 minutes in length (see schedule below)
  • Tryouts are closed. Parents may bring their players to the ticket booth to check-in.
  • Coaches will be available to tie skates if needed.

  • Players should arrive 45 minutes before ice time.
  • Players not checked in at least 15 minutes before their scheduled ice time will not be permitted to try out in that session.
  • Players should check the monitor for locker room assignments and use the appropriate room.
  • Squirts will play the randomized position as assigned via the tryout software.
  • All Peewee and Bantam skaters must declare a position to try out before day 3. This can be done at check-in on days 1-3.

ATTIRE

  • Players will be given a reversible, randomly numbered jersey at the first check-in. They will keep this throughout tryouts and must bring it for each session. These will also be their practice jerseys for the season (must be returned)
  • Wear CLHA or plain black, white, green, or gold socks.
  • Remove all AAA team or non-CLHA stickers and any identifying stickers/tape from helmets, except goalies.
  • Anyone not following these rules will be sent off the ice.

  • An email will be sent late Friday or early Saturday indicating which players will scrimmage.

After Tryouts:

Evaluations will be assessed, teams will be formed, and coaches will be assigned. Tryout results will be communicated via email and posted on our website as soon as they are available.

WHAT EVALUATORS WILL BE LOOKING FOR

Evaluators will be looking for players that are able to skate and execute all the required skills for their age division. They will also be looking to find players that are hardworking, passionate, willing to go and get the puck, do the little things, and battle for their team. We want smart hockey players who are willing to make that little play to make a big difference.

Players should go out and skate hard the entire time, both offensively and defensively.
