Ages 4 – 7 (Pre-K to 1st grade)
This program is for boys and girls that are new to hockey. Intro to hockey allows kids to try hockey in a fun, casual environment without a significant time or financial commitment.
At this level, all skaters wear full pads and helmet with facemasks. They start the season
without a hockey stick. Over the first few weeks, players are evaluated and will "earn their stick"
as they progress and some players who advance quickly may be moved up to a mini-mite team. We try to have kids to play with other kids their same age while at the same time doing our best
to have everyone play at the right skill level.
The Little Wildcat season runs from November 9th to Feb 23rd with no practice on Dec 22nd.
Ice time is on Sunday Afternoons at 3 pm at Chisago Lakes Arena.
If you’re not quite ready for hockey and need to learn how to skate better, check out Coach Holly Cardoni’s Skates & Stix program. She offers lessons and classes like Learn 2 Skate, L2S better, Summer Camps, Family open skating, and so much more!
Ages: Generally boys and girls in Kindergarten and 1st graders with a few 2nd graders.
Mini mites is the 1st level with games for players after Little Wildcats. Practices are Saturday mornings at 8:50 am and games are Sunday Afternoons at 4pm. Players at the mini mite level also get a chance to play in some jamboree/tournaments vs. players from other associations.
Advanced mini mite players are also eligible to sign up for travel hockey subject to additional travel hockey fees and coach evaluation for placement on a team.
Ages: This level is generally for boys and girls in their third or fourth year of hockey who are in 2nd or 3rd grade.
Practices will be on Tuesday or Thursday evenings at 6:10 pm and InHouse Games will be on Sunday Afternoons at 5:10 pm. Most In House Mite Players also choose to play travel hockey as detailed below for the additional travel hockey fees.
Travel hockey is in addition to the in-house mite levels above. Travel team signup is available to all in-house players in 1st grade and above. Players will be placed on travel teams by coach evaluations at the beginning of the season.
Travel hockey begins in November and in addition to the in-house practice, and the in-house game there are added games vs other travel teams and about 20 additional practices. Travel teams will also have the opportunity to play in jamborees or tournaments.
